Having a high resolution digital photograph of your eyes is extremely important as the doctor can zoom in and have a better look at everything inside your eyes and it serves as a baseline so that when you come back the following years for your annual eye exams, we can take new photos and now can overlap the photos taken each year to compare and see if there are any changes. By being able to compare the photos, we are able to detect any kind of changes to the eyes at the earliest stages possible and with early detection, we can start treatment much sooner and thus, the results will always be much better. Additionally, we can help prevent the progression of potentially sight threatening diseases and conditions if we are able to detect their existence at an earlier stage of development.
